My husband and I found TC after we moved down to South Carolina from Pittsburgh, PA, about 6 years ago. We came down for the beautiful weather year-round – no matter how hot, you never have to shovel sunshine! Transformation Church has become our church home, where we believe in and try to live out the mission of Upward, Inward, Outward!
I started serving with Backpack Meals before the Market, and have since served before, during the pandemic, and continue still. Serving at the Market is an honor and very important to me. Whether I am greeting and spending time with our families, packing groceries, or helping to load up the cars – I know that I am being the hands and feet of Christ. I strongly believe that smiles, kind words, and actions of compassion are a way to reach people and share God’s love with everyone.
My friend/neighbor, Char told me about her experience working with her church and food bank back in Austin, TX. After sharing with her about the Market and its mission, she asked if she could serve with us. She joined me at a Wednesday distribution, helping to pack and load up groceries and meet our families as well as other servant leaders.
