Our Story

Led by Pastor Derwin L. Gray, Transformation Church (TC) began with a group of 178 people who believed in God’s vision to be a multiethnic, multigenerational, mission-shaped community. God provided and transformed a warehouse with green Astroturf, batting cages, and no parking lot, into a worship space. Prior to our first Sunday, on February 7, 2010, Pastor Derwin prayed for 700 people to come. 701 showed up.  Since then, TC has welcome thousands of people from diverse backgrounds to form one family.

TC was recognized as the 2nd fastest-growing church by percentage in America for 2010 by Outreach Magazine. It was also recognized in 2011-2012.

Started an extension campus at Kershaw Correctional Institution. Since then God has opened the doors for another campus at Lee Correctional Institution as well as outreach opportunities at Camille Correctional Institution, and Catawba Pre-Release Center. Launched Icono, a church plant in Madrid, Spain, led by Pastor Joel Maceiras.

Construction of the new TC 521 facility was finalized on 12.1 acres of land along Highway 521 in Indian Land, South Carolina. TC held its first services in this new 32,000 sq. ft. facility on November 30.

The semi-annual High-Definition Leader Roundtable (based on Pastor Derwin’s book of the same name) was launched in October 2015. This Roundtable encourages and equips church leaders in how to develop and lead multiethnic churches.

Once again, TC was recognized as one of the fastest growing churches in America. We hope you will join us as we continue to experience God’s transforming grace in our lives!

We served thousands of people in three different regions surrounding TC with our Mission UIO Outreach Project. Transformation Church Music released its Age to Age album.

Launched The Hunger Project where we packed thousands of meals for our community. Celebrated the 5-year anniversary of our church plant in Spain, Icono.

Celebrated our 10-year anniversary in February. In March, we shifted to online-only service and TC Groups due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. In the midst of adversity, we celebrated healthcare workers, recognized delivery drivers, and started a food market for our community. Launched our first Spanish-speaking TC Groups.

Relaunched the HD Leader Roundtable as the Multiethnic Church Roundtable.
