Classroom Project Supports 1,000 Local Teachers
May 27, 2021

Each year as summer begins to wind down and schools prepare to open again, we gather together to serve through our Classroom Project. On average, teachers spend around $600 of their own money to purchase school supplies. One way we can serve our teachers and students well is by providing the school supplies they desperately need.

This year 167 Transformers served to purchase and pack 1,000 supply bins and deliver them to our 10 partner schools. The total amount of money going into this project to impact our local schools this year is $86,217.

One of the teachers who received a supply bin reached out to us to share her gratitude.

“After a difficult year of COVID teaching, my colleagues and I were so happy to receive school supplies from Transformation. To know that a church loves and supports us in tangible ways really makes a difference. In 26 years of teaching, I’ve never had a church provide supplies like this. And with budget cuts every year, more comes out of teachers’ pockets so receiving these supplies has been the biggest blessing! My colleagues can’t stop talking about how excited and grateful they are about the supplies provided and it brings me great joy to see my church fam love my school fam.” – Mary Lou Baker, English teacher, Sun Valley High School – Monroe, NC

We can be generous with others because God has been incredibly generous with us. As we always say, “if the community doesn’t get better as a result of us being here, then we might as well pack up and go home.” Well, we’re not going anywhere. Thank you, Transformers! Thank you for loving our community and making a lasting impact in the lives of many.
